DAVID CARUS is a teacher, author, speaker, and entrepreneur. He studied English Literature and U.S. Government at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. and worked on Capitol Hill with plans of one day going into politics. His love for art and books inspired him to take a slightly different path.
After college he started Salad Bowl Records, a hip hop recording label, in his hometown of Salinas, California. He taught English at his old high school and found himself at the forefront of a battle over standardized testing and led an educational movement that resulted in district wide changes and catapulted him into a run for Congress at the age of 25. He moved to New York City where he pursued an even more creative life, connecting with artists and began helping them through social media and entrepreneurship. His writings and trainings focused on inspiring people to see that everyone can and should create art because it is the best way to effect change. He is currently a teacher, author and speaker that continues to create art that uplifts mankind. When he speaks to audiences his goal is to inspire people to lead creative lives. He is the CEO & Founder of Art Planet and lives in central California with his wife Lenette and son Sage. |
