10 WAYS YOU CAN HELP DAVID CARUS
Hi. If you're reading this you probably know who I am and what I'm about. You may have said to yourself, "I like this guy. I'd like to help him out in some way." Well, by now I've realized that my focus on empowering artists reaches far beyond me and people are looking for ways they can get involved and help create a more artistic planet. I created this page because I've received so many similar offers of people's help and I wanted a place I could point people to when they reached out. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for caring enough, being aware enough and deciding to back up artists. I always say, "Artists Run This Planet," and I know for a lot of people their first reaction is, "What? No they don't. The politicians, corporations and bankers do," but I'm standing up and choosing to create a world where people wouldn't even have those kinds of thoughts because the more people that do, the less chance this planet has. Thank you for your viewpoint and your commitment to seeing art and artists flourish and prosper. Here's my list of "10 Ways You Can Help David Carus," I challenge you to see how many you can do. Doing just one of these is a great step in the direction of making art important and elevating artists to greater heights.

5. WRITE ABOUT ME
I spend a lot of time writing about other artists but it's always awesome to have someone write about me. I'd love to read about how something I wrote, said or made influenced you. How about writing a short blurb or review of one of my songs or albums? You can take what you write and send it to a popular website or blogger as a way of helping get the word out. You might even want to start your own website or blog. If you're looking for subjects to write about I know lots of artists that are really deserving of articles. I have too many that I can't get to them all! Maybe you could help me? For ideas check out this website I created to write about other artists I know:

Hardly a week passes with me not going to the studio to record a new X-Ray Poetz song. Hundreds of hours go into making an album and there's nothing better than knowing people support our music. Today it's easy to hear music for free online but buying an album is a big show of support. Plus, the music is awesome, intellectual and unlike anything else around.

7. INTRODUCE YOUR FRIENDS TO MY WORK
Everyone has friends and I'm sure knows at least one or two artists in the bunch. Talk to them about my work and use it as a way to help them in whatever they're doing. Send them a link to my website, share one of my blogs with them, have them watch "The David Carus Show," or listen to the song "Artists Run This Planet" or "Artist in a Time of War," or "Charlie Chaplin." Become a super supporter of artists and share a link with someone everyday. You can even find and make new friends using my links. I know from experience that my content has made people's days, brought them to tears, and made them change paths. You can create similar effects too. All you have to do is copy and paste a link.

I love to see people draw pictures of me or artists I admire. Make some fan art and send it to me and I'll share it with my audience and let them know about you. How about creating a webcomic? I'd love to see someone tackle the X-Ray Poetz or even just me in a comic strip. Whatever your skill level is, it doesn't matter. Make some artwork because it's fun and it makes you feel good. Making some David Carus fan art is an awesome way to show your support and you might just build a fan base while helping me build mine. If you're really ambitious I'm always looking for artists to draw comics for collaborations with me as the writer. (P.S. The drawing of the X-Ray Poetz was done by artist Keith Kern)

10. BE AN ARTIST AND MAKE ART.
Forget about me, I want everyone to be an artist too. The more artists there are, the better our world becomes. Art lifts people up and makes them creative, imaginative and just plain happy. Why do people love to see movies, like to dance at parties, and hang up paintings in their living room? Why do people stay up all night to finish a novel, stand in long lines to see their favorite singer and why do we spend so much time picking the right outfit? It's because art moves us. Art moves the entire planet. And yes, artists run this planet. Imagine if we had more artists? What would that do to change things? What kind of laws would we have? What kind of people would we meet on the subway? What would it look like when you walked down the street? All the buildings don't have to look the same. Cars don't have to be standardly black, white, gray and tan. You should be able to buy a canvas at the convenience store. Every school should make art mandatory every day. There shouldn't be a moment lived without art in the picture in some way. I know the world I'm trying to build and the best way you can help me build it is to be an artist and make art. Artists Run This Planet!
